Hello! Thanks for subscribing to Professional Sweetheart. Pass the word along to someone, won’t you?
Wanted to announce two live event-type things I’m doing that are happening very soon! These are both in Atlanta, so apologies to my non-local dudes!
This Monday at the Plaza Theater, I’ll be chatting with the legendary cinematographer and director, Barry Sonnenfeld, about his brand new book Best Possible Place, Worst Possible Time. Not only is that an incredible title but I just finished it and the whole thing is fucking hilarious. He spills so much tea on everyone he’s worked with, I’m kind of in awe, frankly. Just this simple title chapter and anecdote alone made me do a spit take:
I can’t wait to chat with him about it! And, since I also had the pleasure of doing an event with Roger Deakins a while back, I guess I’m on track to interview every person who’s ever shot a Coen Brothers movie?! I’m a lucky gal!
The other thing I wanted to mention is the live I Saw What You Did show we’re doing at the Tara Theater on November 7th:
This is pretty much the first time we’ve ever done a public show outside of a university, so we’re excited! There won’t be a movie screening; it’s just gonna be Danielle and I chatting about a film we love, some banter, some games (you know a Serial Killer or Self Care is coming!), and a Q&A. I hope you can come out!
Lastly, for your spooky season, I was recently on an Amazon Prime Video roundtable chatting about the Suspiria remake from 2018. I got to wear my top with the dramatic shoulders and had a blast. Here it is if you want to check it out (also, that thumbnail photo of me is my Resting Dipshit Face, if you didn’t know).
Just a shorty for your weekend — I have a longer piece cookin’ for next week. See you then!
Millie
Please do a live show on the West Coast.
