Shelf Care Routines and Yet Another Plea to Own Physical Media

The other day I was going through some of the emails we get at the podcast and came across one asking Danielle and I about physical media. The question was roughly two parts:
A) If we still buy it (and what we buy)
B) If we have a method to display it in our homes and what that looks like, especially in regards to whether that place is a kooky wonderland of corresponding toys or other film ephemera (wow)
First, I must say we’re generally pretty lucky at ISWYD in that we tend to get fun, thoughtful emails from smart people who basically understand who we are and what we like. So the idea that the author picked up on me possibly being someone who occasionally relishes in the opportunity to bypass the moral/ethical debate of owning physical media (although I will definitely riff on that in just a second) for something that has more to do with interior decorating is really wonderful. OF COURSE I would have extended opinions on how I choose to display blurays in my home! I only think about it ALL THE TIME!
